ABOUT DR. TERRA

MEET DR. TERRA

Dr. Terra Winston graduated from Bastyr University in 2016 and spent her first 4 years in practice at Evergreen Center for Integrative Medicine in Seattle, learning how to treat complex chronic illness (such as Lyme disease and co-infections) and honing in her physical medicine skills. In 2020 she relocated to her hometown of Wenatchee, WA to open a private practice specializing in health optimization for high performers and passionate wellness advocates.

As a life-long athlete Dr. Winston has a passion for sports medicine and loves keeping athletes in the game. She believes hands-on therapy is essential when it comes to pain relief and is skilled in manual adjustments, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, IV nutrient therapy and regenerative injection techniques that encourage healing of damaged tissues that wouldn’t normally heal on their own.

When she’s not working Dr. Winston can be found entertaining her son, Mason, and enjoying the outdoors with her partner, Adam, and everyones favorite office dog, Queen Chloe. She is a foodie at heart and loves baking healthy, allergy-free treats for all to enjoy!

MY STORY

As a child I used to love playing doctor. I carried around my doctor bag everywhere I went; patching up scrapes and doling out sugar pill "medicines".

As a pre-teen I developed severe abdominal pain and visited several doctors in search of a remedy. No one could figure out why I was having symptoms and the only treatment offered was an anti-depressant medication. I knew depression wasn't the cause of my pain so I started pursuing nutritional remedies on my own, and simultaneously gave up on my dream of practicing medicine. I just didn't want to be in a profession that only had one tool in their kit, especially when that tool was prescriptions pills designed to numb the problem.

After graduating college with a dream of opening a bakery for those with food sensitivities I began to research graduate programs for dietitians interested in alternative nutrition. This is how I stumbled on Bastyr University and discovered the field of naturopathic medicine. Just 2 weeks after making this discovery I registered for classes and began completing my prerequisites for admission to the Naturopathic Physician program at Bastyr.

Fast forward to 2016 when I graduated and began working with the amazing physicians at Evergreen Center for Integrative Medicine. I learned so much in my first 4 years of solo practice seeing high volumes of very ill patients! My real superpower is my love of learning, which allows me to constantly revitalize and refine my practice. I currently specializes in helping "high performers" optimize health so they can work faster, harder and smarter without burning out. As a high performer myself, I know how vital it is to work a full day and still have energy left for my family. Finding balance is not always easy or obvious and I love sharing my success and failures to help others live a higher quality of life.

It sounds weird, but I have a passion for needles! I vowed that if I had to do blood draws or injections I'd do them well because I hate being stuck with needles by unskilled hands (it hurts!). Injection therapies such as PRP, prolotherapy, ozone therapy and IV therapy can be vitally important for healing damaged tissues and relieving chronic pain. Word on the street is that I achieved my goal: Im great with a needle!

I also love using non-invasive physical medicine therapies such as craniosacral therapy, Neural integration technique (NIT) or Biocranial therapy, and manual or activator assisted osteopathic manipulation to help unwind trauma and reintegrate the mind-body-spirit connection.

Most recently my passions have take me beyond the physical body to optimize the mental body, emotional body and spiritual body. You'll see options to dive deeper into each of the four bodies all over this website!

When I'm not in the office I'm usually chasing my son, throwing sticks into the river for my dog or traveling with my partner. My true loves are reading, delicious + beautiful food, spending time with my family in nature, and exploring this gorgeous world.

Fun fact: I almost choose art school over medicine. I still love creating all kinds of things- jewelry, greeting cards, wall art and even designing furniture! My ability to think creatively gives me a unique perspective on health and wellness.
